With each new season comes new hopes for all 20 Serie A clubs, and 2011-12 promises to be no different. However, after AC Milan's Scudetto triumph last time out, there's a fresh approach to the campaign ahead in light of Inter's previous dominance being ended.

Down at the bottom, there will be some familiar names battling it out, while promoted Siena, Novara and Atalanta will be aiming for 17th place first and foremost in their bids to consolidate back in the top flight. For the latter though, there is the handicap of a six-point penalty.
